Do not ever, ever, ever, ever, read magazines filled with various lifestyle tips, especially dating advice, even to intentionally make yourself mad and/or laugh.  While the above image is meant to be satire, the real thing isn’t all too different and forces me to ask: just who comes up with this stuff?  No one behaves like this.  No one.  And if they do, someone please tell me so I can just leave.
Don’t listen to this stuff.  You do you and most of all: keep your flaws.  Your flaws are what make you interesting and are what the editors of these magazines are looking for and effectively end up stamping out. The “38 ways to make your boyfriend love you”, “15 different butt clenches you can do at your desk”, and “75 different ways to make him scream” are more than likely guidebooks to getting your boyfriend to leave you for ruining your personality, getting fired with a sore behind, and getting a laugh out of the on-call ER staff.  Don’t do it.

“You do you and most of all: keep your flaws.  Your flaws are what make you interesting”
Flaws, quirks and scars are what make me fall for a person. The things that make them different from the rest. I always refer to a quote from one of my favourite movies, Les Poupées Russes when it comes to this conversation:
I know you’re not always perfect, I know you have tons of problems, defects, imperfections, but who doesn’t? It’s just that I prefer your problems. I’m in love with your imperfections, your imperfections are just great……I know most girls, they go weak at the knees for what’s beautiful. That’s all they see, that’s all they want, but I’m not like that. I don’t just see what’s beautiful, I fall for all the other stuff, I love what’s not perfect, that’s just how I am.
If you’re in my life, I don’t want to fix you, I invited you in exactly as you are and I don’t want to change that for the world. I’ll be there for you through the tough times, as frequent or sparse as they may be. I love you, for you, and I’m here for you.
